PMC Pune City AIDS Control Society |  Pune City AIDS Control Society has received the final certificate from the Income Tax Department (IT Department).  This will exempt the donors from income tax under section 12A and 80G.  This is the first time in the history of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) that such a certificate has been received.  The PMC Health Department hopes that the funds raised will be used to strengthen AIDS prevention and control programs in the city.  This information was given by Dr Suryakant Devkar, Assistant Health Officer of the Society and Assistant Health Officer of the Health Department.  (PMC Pune City AIDS Control Society)

  Pune City AIDS Control Society, Pune Municipal Corporation is registered with the Charitable Trust.  This society is functioning at the Gadikhana of the Pune Municipal Corporation.  Various activities regarding AIDS control are implemented on behalf of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC Pune) through this society.  The Health Department had decided to apply for permission from the IT Department to collect donations with a view to improving the AIDS control and prevention program and to avoid additional financial burden on the Municipal Corporation.  The Pune municipal corporation had applied a few months ago.  Accordingly, the final certificate of the IT department has been received, said Dr. Devkar.  (PMC Pune Health Department)

  Dr. Suryakant Devkar further said that the Pune City AIDS Control Society Trust has received permission from the Income Tax Department.  which allowed donors to claim tax benefits under Sections 80G, 12A and 12AA.  Citizens can now pay for AIDS prevention and control programs run by civic bodies.  This fund will be used for strengthening and effective implementation of the program in the city.  (PMC Pune News)

   We are pleased to receive approval and final certificate from the Income Tax Department.  If the citizens make donations in the name of Pune City AIDS Control, they will get exemption from income tax.
