Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Junior Engineer (Civil) Promotion | Promotion will be given to the post of Junior Engineer (Civil) in the Engineering Cadre from among the working Class 3 and Class 4 employees of the Pune Municipal Corporation establishment. For that, according to the new rules, the employees will have to take the exam. The municipal administration has prepared for it and the exam will be held on January 28, 2024. But all the candidates had objected about this exam. Accordingly, a petition was filed in the High Court. The High Court has given relief to these candidates. A proposal to change the method, percentage and qualification of appointment of the posts of Executive Engineer, Deputy Engineer and Junior Engineer in the establishment of Pune Municipal Corporation was sent by the Municipal Commissioner to the State Government. It has been recently approved by the state government. Accordingly now junior engineers have been given 15% promotion instead of 25%. Now the employees have to take the exam for that promotion. As soon as the proposal is accepted by the government, the administration has announced the exam date immediately. However, candidates who have already qualified will be given a chance without asking for any new application. These are 60 employees in class 3 and 4. The administration said that this decision can be taken by the administration. It is already delayed in promotion. Calling for fresh applications will further delay the process. Therefore, the first employees will be given a chance. Meanwhile, preparations for this promotion had been started from 2021 by the municipal administration. However, this promotion was delayed as only a few candidates messed it up. Objections were also raised about people bringing degrees from abroad. In that, the municipal administration took the position of conducting the examination without considering the seniority while giving promotion and sent the proposal to the government. For promotion to the post of Junior Engineer (Architectural) 5 years experience and Degree or Diploma in Architecture is required. Accordingly, this exam will be conducted on January 28. This exam will be conducted in objective manner through English medium. There will be 100 marks question paper. 45% marks are required to pass.
In fact, only a few candidates were opposed to conducting such an examination. However, they were very well taken care of. Accordingly, these candidates had approached the High Court against the Municipal Corporation. Accordingly, the court has given relief to these candidates. The court said that the administration has no right to disqualify these candidates for promotion even if the candidates who filed the petition did not appear in the examination or failed in the examination. This is considered as a relief to the candidates. Also, the court said that the municipal corporation should not conduct the examination to avoid problems in this regard. However, the municipal administration is adamant about conducting the exam. We will not cancel the exam at any time. The administration has said that. The administration said that this is not the final decision of the court. Some decisions are entrusted to us by the courts. Accordingly we are going to conduct the exam. | Maratha reservation survey work for the candidates who are also in the exam
Meanwhile, the work of Maratha reservation survey has been started in the city as per the order of the state government. In this, nearly 2500 municipal employees have been appointed as enumerators and supervisors. This also includes Junior Engineers who have 28th exam. Action has been ordered if the survey work is not done. Meanwhile, these employees demanded not to give this work. Yet they have been given this task. This work will continue till January 31. If so when do we study for the exam and how do we stop working for the exam? These are the questions employees are thinking about.

As decided by the municipal administration, the exam will be held on January 28. We are adamant about taking the exam from the very beginning. As the court said, we cannot disqualify any candidate. Meanwhile, this is not the final decision of the court. The municipality will present its side well in the court.
