PMC IWMS System – (The Karbhari News Service) – Through the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) budgetary provisions, project, capital and revenue works are done through tender process through various departments. Improved computer system for these development works and submission of bills. (Intelligent Works Management System) has started to be used. However, this system has been found to be flawed. Because of the errors in the system, the municipal employees and contractors were hit. As a result, these people had to stay in the municipal corporation till 3 o’clock on Thursday night. The tender approval docket for the development works developed through various departments of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC Pune) should be done through IWMS software only. Also, the responsibility of filling the checklist prepared for the audit and vigilance department will be the responsibility of the concerned junior engineer of the department through which the docket is submitted for approval. Listing, technical approval, DTP, tender advertisement, checklist prepared for audit and vigilance department, tender approval docket, work order and measurement books (MB) etc. should be done through IWMS software only. Commissioner also said in his order. This system is working accordingly. But it has been revealed that there is an error.
The financial year of the Municipal Corporation is ending on Sunday, March 31. But since Friday is Good Friday and Saturday and Sunday are non-weekly holidays, contractors (PMC Contractors) rushed to the Municipal Corporation for bills of works on Thursday. But due to technical problems in IWMS, contractors as well as employees had to face psychological problems.
The financial year of the Municipal Corporation is ending on March 31. Similarly, since Thursday was the last working day, the contractors who had done various works of the municipal corporation in the past few months had thronged the municipal corporation to submit their bills. This year, for the first time, due to problems in the internet, as the bills were to be submitted in the online software created by the Municipal Corporation, that is, in the IWMS system. Also, some were facing some technical difficulties in the software. Similarly, as the Municipal Corporation did not extend the deadline till late evening, many people had to wait till late night to submit the bills. Meanwhile, the errors in the system are the same. Bills are completed only in a formal manner.

1) Even with high speed internet, IWMS works very slowly
2) Amount of bills did not match. There was a difference in the amount.
3) There was only one computer operator.
4) It took 2 hours to complete the file of just one Bill.
5) M.B’s item is not in a sequence so he has to rearrange. So it took him time.

The IWMS system of the Municipal Corporation is correct. But it is necessary to remove some of the errors. Not only the contractors but also the municipal employees had to suffer. Therefore, we request the municipal administration to remove the technical difficulties.
