PMC will be taken action on the closed bulk waste generators!

Pune Bill Waste Generators | Pune Shahratq Societies and all establishments that generate 100 kg of waste every day are required to dispose of wet waste in their premises. For that, Biogas Project or Composting has been made mandatory. Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) also gives income tax discount (Pune Property tax Discount) to such establishments. However, some projects are closed with the discount. Therefore, strong penal action will be taken against such closed bulk waste generators. All Assistant Commissioners (PMC Ward officers) Deputy Commissioner of Solid Waste Department Sandip Kadam (PMC) has given strict orders.(Pune Bill Waste Generators)
: Composting, biomethanization mandatory
Any establishment generating 100 kg of solid waste per day (houses, bungalows, hospitals, nursing homes, schools, colleges, universities, other educational institutions, hostels, hotels, public offices, commercial establishments) under the Municipal Solid Waste (Management and Handling) Rules 2016 , markets, buildings or undertakings occupied by Central Government Departments, State Government Departments or undertakings, local bodies, public sector undertakings or private companies, religious places, stadiums and sports complexes) etc. (wet waste) biodegradable waste generated in their establishments – It is mandatory to dispose of it in their own premises through composting, biomethanization or other technologies.
: Apparently no action is being taken
Kadam has said in his order that Pune Municipal Corporation, societies generating 100 kg of waste per day, BWG Hospitals, Hotels, Colleges and I. T. A detailed list of bulk waste generators, companies etc. has been made available to all Municipal Assistant Commissioners. Accordingly, it has been ordered from time to time to collect information about availability of wet waste disposal system at the place of bulk waste generators coming under its jurisdiction. You have been informed from time to time about implementing wet waste disposal system in the premises of all BWGs under our jurisdiction by giving notice to the establishments where the project is not operational and taking penal action where necessary. However, the daily report shows that there is no effective penal action against the bulk waste generators whose wet waste treatment plants are closed in our jurisdiction.
: The burden of wet waste on the Municipal Corporation
Similarly, unnecessary additional burden of handling wet waste of these establishments is falling on the system of Pune Municipal Corporation. Frequently there are deliberate abuses in this regard
Complaints are also coming in. Accordingly, all the BWGs in the area of operation should be physically inspected and penal action should be taken against the non-compliant establishments if wet waste treatment plants are not started there.
: 7 days deadline
Within the next 7 days, all the bulk waste generators coming under our field office should be inspected by the concerned Health Inspector and Senior Health Inspector. Necessary action should be taken regarding disposal of biodegradable waste generated by bulk waste generators in their premises through composting, biomethanization or other technologies. It will be the responsibility of you and the concerned Senior Health Inspector to ensure that the closed bulk waste generators continue to operate at full capacity. It should be ensured at our level that the wet waste of the concerned bulk waste generators is not picked up through the municipal system. Kadam has said this in the order.
