Pune Unauthorized Water Tap – (The Karbhari News Service) – Water Scarcity in Pune is being felt in some parts of Pune city.  Every day, hundreds of complaints are being received by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC).  In some areas, water supply seems to be improving (Pune PMC News).

 Action against 43 unauthorized taps in Keshavnagar area!

 Regarding this, Chief Engineer Nandkishor Jagtap of the Municipal Water Supply Department said that since the last few days there were many complaints of water shortage from Keshavnagar area.  Water was not reaching the last part of this area.  Due to this, the citizens were complaining to the Municipal Corporation.  Jagtap said that we have asked our employees to investigate this.  It was noticed that there are many unauthorized tap connections in Kumbharwada area.  The cowherds and citizens there had taken such a connection.  So water would go very less in the last part.  Accordingly, we took action against 43 unauthorized taps in this area and broke them.  Therefore, all the citizens were getting water in equal proportion.  This has also reduced the complaints of the citizens.

 Appeal to citizens not to take unauthorized taps

 In fact, it is the citizens who need to take care of this.  The water supply department always appeals not to take unauthorized taps but there is no response.  So some people do not get water at all.  So once again the water supply department has appealed to apply properly and get the connection.  Municipal Corporation provides water after such demand.  The department has warned to take action if unauthorized connections are found.
