Must give polio vaccine to your baby on 3rd March

 : Appeal by  Health Minister Prof.  Dr. Tanaji Sawant

Pune : (The Karbhari online) – Under the National Pulse Polio Vaccination Campaign, a polio vaccination campaign will be conducted across the state on March 3, 2024 with the slogan ‘Two drops at a time, Victory over Polio every time’ on behalf of the State Public Health Department.  On this day, children up to 5 years of age in rural and urban areas will be given polio vaccine from the vaccination center, and all citizens should cooperate by giving polio vaccine to their children under five years of age, Health Minister Prof.  Dr.  Tanaji Sawant has done to the people of the state.
               Under this campaign of the health department, the aim is to give polio dose to 1 crore 13 lakh 70 thousand 443 children under five years of age in the state.  For this, 89,299 booths have been set up across the state and more than 2 lakh 21 thousand employees will be working at these booths.  Apart from this, more than three crore houses will be visited under the campaign.  Also, mobile teams and night teams will also be working to ensure that no child is deprived of a dose of polio.
             A state level task force meeting has been held in connection with pulse polio campaign and a task force meeting has been held in all districts under the chairmanship of the Collector.  The concerned health workers have been instructed on behalf of the department to ensure that no child is deprived of polio vaccine by paying more attention to high risk areas.  Vaccination has been planned at the taluka and village level as well as at the district level.  Health department has prepared its system for this vaccination campaign and this campaign will be implemented at district, taluka and village level.  The health department has appealed to the citizens to cooperate so that no child up to five years of age in the state is deprived of polio vaccination.
             It is planned to administer polio doses during home visits to underprivileged children who could not receive a dose on Pulse Polio Vaccination Day.
             Along with the Health Department, World Health Organization, UNICEF USAD, Lions Club, Rotary Club and NGOs, Child Development Department, Education Department, Transport Department etc. will be involved in the Pulse Polio Vaccination Campaign.
