  Walk-in cooler system for storing vaccine stock of Pune Municipal Corporation is working

 Pune – (The Karbhari News Service) – Around 3 lakh children in the age group of 0 to 5 under 15 regional offices of Pune Municipal Corporation are given different vaccines at different age stages under the National Immunization Program.  Birth BCG, POLIO etc  HEPATITIS-B then after completion of 6,10,14 weeks PENTA, POLIO, ROTA, IPV, PCV after completion of 9 months and after completion of 1.5 years MR, VITAMIN – A, DPT- B etc. vaccines are given.  After the baby completes 4.5 years DPT again and 10, 16 TD vaccines are given after years and to pregnant women.
  5 ILRs are available at the main vaccination center Narayan Peth for vaccine storage and vaccine is supplied to 54 clinics and 19 maternity homes under the jurisdiction of Pune Municipal Corporation.
 It is understood that campaigns like adult BCG, Japanese encephalitis, MR vaccination are planned by the state government in the future, apart from special rainbow campaign, vaccination of Hajj pilgrims have to be carried out from time to time.
  After inclusion of 34 new villages under the Pune Municipal Corporation, beneficiaries are seen flocking to the 29 newly started health promotion centers of the Pune Municipal Corporation for vaccination.  For this, the company has got ISO certificate from Pune Municipal Corporation A walk-in cooler of 25,500 liters capacity was installed.
 Before using Walk in Cooler for vaccine storage, under the guidance of expert from NCCRC of Govt. A temperature mapping recorder and digital display have been installed and the equipment is provided with necessary generator set and UPS backup.
 On March 3, 2024, the said walk in cooler facility was inaugurated by Pune Municipal Corporation Additional Municipal Commissioner Ravindra Binwade.  On this occasion, Assistant Director of Health Services and Deputy State Immunization Officer from the State Government Shri Dr.  Praveen Vedpathak, Pune Municipal Corporation Health Officer Dr.  Bhagwan Pawar, Deputy Health Officer Dr.  Kalpana Baliwant, Assistant Health Officer Dr.  Dr. Sanjeev Vavre Assistant Health Officer and Vaccination Officer.  Dr. Rajesh Dighe, Assistant Health Officer.  Dr. Suryakant Deokar, City Tuberculosis Officer.  Prashant Bothe, World Health Organization Surveillance Medical Officer Dr. Chetan Khade, Regional Medical Officer Dr. Gopal Ujwankar, Medical Officer Dr.  Ganesh Jagdale and Dr.  Pradeep Pawar, all staff of Immunization Department were present.
