Income of 18 lakh 74 thousand to the PMC from the auction of commercial property!

Pune Property Tax Auction |  Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has held an auction of 53 commercial properties on Wednesday. One commercial property has been sold in the auction, for which the corporation will get Rs 18 lakh 74 thousand. The concerned buyer has paid 20% of the amount.  Deputy Commissioner Ajit Deshmukh informed that the amount will be deposited in the municipal treasury in the next 15 days.
Pune Municipal Corporation’s Property Tax Department (PMC Property tax Department) has emphasized on tax collection.  Due to various reasons Punekars are apathetic about paying taxes.  Therefore measures are being taken for recovery.  As part of this, commercial properties are being sealed.  A total of 200 of them will be auctioned.  (PMC Property Tax)
The tax collection department of the Municipal Corporation has received an income of more than 1900 crores in the current financial year.  However, the department is facing many difficulties in fulfilling the target given by the Municipal Commissioner.  Because the citizens of the involved villages are reluctant to pay income tax.  Also commercial property holders do not pay tax.  The head of the department has given orders to the department for maximum recovery.  (Pune Property tax).
In the first auction, 32 properties were sold by the Pune Municipal Corporation.  There was no sale of income.  So 22 income holders paid the municipal fees.  After that, the municipality held an auction of 53 properties on Wednesday.  The arrears of this was 14 crores.  Four people paid.  The Municipal Corporation received an amount of 19 lakhs.  1 of the remaining 49 properties were sold.  The municipal corporation will get 18 lakh 74 thousand.  The remaining proceeds will be re-auctioned.  Deshmukh said.
