Invest in Rest | Why is investing in Rest or relaxation as important as money? | find out

Invest in Rest | In the hectic life we always tend to overlook one thing. That is to relax. It is important to get comfortable and stay calm. Because only then our energy will increase. Just as we invest in money, we should invest in rest.

Why are rest days important?

Rest and Repair

Your body not only needs sleep, but downtime to repair the muscle damage caused by workouts and to replenish the nutrients used during exercise (such as magnesium, iron, and glycogen).

Immunity

Without proper rest, your immune system can’t do all the repairs your body needs.

Sleep

Sleep gives your body time to recover, conserve energy, and repair and build the muscles worked during exercise.

When we get enough good sleep, the body produces growth hormone. During childhood and adolescence, growth hormone makes us grow — as the name suggests,
As we grow older, it helps us build lean muscle and helps our body repair itself when we tear ourselves up during hard workouts.

Inflammation

If you don’t rest your body, inflammation increases, making you feel bloated, tired, and your defense against colds and flu. If you’re trying to lose weight by exercising more, you’ll probably hit a plateau, which is caused by inflammation.

Rest = Muscle Gain

Taking RD is the best way to help your body recover and stay on track to reach your goals. Your body gains muscle after a workout, not during it. When on vacation your muscle tissue repairs itself and you come back stronger and with more muscle mass.

Mental Health

From a psychological standpoint, taking a rest period can rekindle your appetite for exercise and help prevent burnout. Mental fatigue is as bad as physical fatigue or even worse!

How often should one take a rest day?

When you relax and how you relax is up to you. Sometimes, people need rest every other day, some 1-2 days a week, some a few days every month.

On rest days, do things like get extra sleep, read a book, go for a walk in nature, or learn a new recipe.

Remind yourself that a rest day is helping you reach your goals, not hindering them!
