PMC Election Department |  Orders to remove advertisements, banners of parties immediately after issuance of Model Code of Conduct

 |  Instructions to all Departments by Deputy Commissioner Chetna Kerure

 PMC Election Department – (The Karbhari News Service) – According to the Loksabha Election 2024, there is a possibility that the Ideal Code of Conduct will be implemented in the state soon.  Accordingly, Municipal Elections Department Deputy Commissioner Chetna Kerure PMC has ordered all departments and zonal offices to immediately remove political flexes, banners, advertisements of parties from public places after the implementation of the code of conduct.  (Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC)
 The Election Commission of India has consolidated the instructions issued from time to time regarding the publication of advertisements during the period of implementation of the Code of Conduct for the conduct of elections in a free and fair environment.  The instructions in the letter have been brought to the notice of all the concerned agencies and instructed to strictly follow the instructions.
 Also after coming into force of the Model Code of Conduct, writings, posters/papers or cutouts/hoardings/banners/flags on the walls of government property under the Prevention of Defacement of Property Act, 1995 as well as party advertisements on government buses, public places like railway stations bus stands, airports, railway bridges, roads  , electric / telephone poles, local body buildings etc. should be removed after the declaration of elections.  Collector and District Election Officer Pune have informed this.  Accordingly, to comply with the model code of conduct, appropriate action should be taken from your level.  It is said in the order.
