PMC Pune Municipal Secretary  | Sunil Parkhi, the full time municipal secretary of Pune Municipal Corporation retired on 30th August 2020.  Also the Deputy Municipal Secretary has also retired.  A recruitment process (PMC Pune Recruitment) was implemented by the Municipal Corporation to appoint a new Municipal Secretary in his place.  Accordingly, an advertisement was given for this post.  But no candidate was found competent.  No one knew about the work of the Municipal Secretary.  For this reason the procedure was cancelled.  No processing has been done since then.  Even after 3 years, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC Pune) could not fill this post.  The Pune Municipal Corporation carried out the work by giving charge.  But again no advertisement was given regarding the post recruitment.  Even with such an important position of the municipal corporation, the indifference of the municipal administration is noticeable.  (PMC Pune Municipal Secretary)

 After Parkhi’s retirement, the administration sent a proposal to the state government regarding the process of appointment of municipal secretaries.  Accordingly, the post recruitment process was expedited.  His advertisement was given in newspapers.  A total of 42 applications were received by the pune Municipal Corporation.  Most of these applications were from municipal officials and employees.  After checking the applications, 29 people were eligible for it.  Interviews were conducted for eligible candidates.  But then the process could not proceed for several days.  After that the recruitment process was cancelled.  Because none of the 29 candidates knew about the work of the municipal councilors.  Due to this, a new process will now be implemented, it was said on behalf of the administration.  No processing has been done since then.  Even after 3 years, the municipal corporation could not fill this post.  The indifference of the municipal corporation is noticeable.  Shivaji Daundkar is currently working as the in-charge municipal secretary.  Daundkar is also retiring at the end of May.  Knowing this, the municipal corporation was expected to conduct its recruitment process three months in advance.  But the administration did not take any such decision.  However, there is a question mark about this role of the administration.  (PMC Pune news)
