Pune Water Cut Update |   There will soon be alternate day water in Pune city!

Pune Water Cut Update |  This year, in the month of June, the rain (Monsoon) has given a shortfall.  Although the month of June has come to an end, there has been no rain in Khadakwasla Dam Chain area.  As the water level in the dams has declined, there are signs of a water crisis for the people of Pune.  If there is not enough rain in the coming period, the people of Pune will have to take alternate day water.  Pune Municipal Corporation has also started such preparations.  (Pune water cut update)
Currently, water is shut off in the city for one day a week.  However, there are signs that this reduction will increase further.  PMC Commissioner Vikram Kumar informed that the next decision will be taken after reviewing the water supply of the city by the end of June.  Meanwhile, last year in June, there was about 127 mm rainfall.  However, this year, the Commissioner said that there has not been even 10 mm of rain yet.  PMC Pune is planning to provide water to the city during the day in July if the water storage in the dams is further depleted.  The schedule has also been prepared accordingly.  Soon a decision will be taken regarding water reduction.  (PMC Pune News)
