 On the occasion of the inauguration of the municipal water tank in Ashanagar, it came to light that Congress MLA Ravindra Dhangekar abused Nandkishore Jagtap, chief engineer of the water supply department of the municipal corporation.  A protest meeting was held on Monday on behalf of the Municipal Engineers Association to oppose it.  (Pune PMC News)

 On this occasion, Executive President of Engineers Association and City Engineer Prashant Waghmare, Secretary Sunil Kadam and Secretary Sanjay Pol, Treasurer Kedar Sathe, Vice President Mukund Barve along with Head of Road Department Anirudh Pavaskar, Chief Engineer of Electricity Department Srinivas Kandul, Project Department Srinivas Bonala, Deputy Commissioner of Encroachment Department Madhav Jagtap  , Chief Engineer of Water Supply Department Nandkishore Jagtap and engineers from all departments of the Municipal Corporation were present.

 Political activists as well as officials are threatening, abusing and pushing municipal officials.  In this case, if a single officer files a complaint with the police, the opposite officer will suffer.  Therefore, a demand was made on behalf of the association to create a cell through the legal department of the municipal corporation and file a complaint with the police through them to prevent such incidents in the future.  A statement of this demand was also given to the Municipal Commissioner.  Also, the responsibility of the inauguration program rests with the Municipal Secretary’s department and in future this task should not be given to the head of the department.  Such a demand was also made at this time.

 The officers of the Pune Municipal Corporation’s Encroachment Department (PMC Encroachment Department) were beaten up a few days ago.  All the employee associations of the municipal corporation had gathered on the green of the municipal building to protest against this.  Earlier also there have been incidents of employees being beaten up.  A discussion was held at this time to curb this.

 If such an incident happens to any employee in the future, everyone must show one.  That employee should not feel alone.  The tone emerged from the discussion that the cooperation of the concerned department as well as the lawyers of the legal department should be given.  After that, the employees and unions had a meeting with Additional Municipal Commissioner Ravindra Binwade.  At this time, the Additional Commissioner had assured that a policy would be prepared in this regard.  For this, the cooperation of the legal department will be taken.  The issue of beating employees is related to the Municipal Corporation.  Therefore, serious steps should be taken in this regard.  But nothing further happened regarding this policy.  But the incidents are happening.  On this occasion, the question is being raised whether the municipality is going to take any step on this.
